Stunning images capture the moment a sugar cube splashes into cup of tea

These amazing pictures prove there really is no use crying over split milk - when you can capture the precise moment a sugar cube spectacularly splashes into a cup of tea.

The stunning pictures have been causing a stir since keen photographer Egor Signienko started using sugar cubes and milk to create the extraordinary effect.

He spends hours painstakingly pouring milk and firing sugar cubes into cups of tea and coffee from different heights and angles just to capture one perfect image.

Egor, 23, uses nothing more than the table he places the items on to photograph his amazing work without any photographic trickery.

He said: 'I love tea and coffee very much and drink a lot of it, often coffee.

'It seemed like the ideal thing use as a subject for my photography when I was thinking of ideas and trying to realise them in my head.

'On each picture I outlaid one or two hours - then I would print the photos, see if they were perfect and if there were any problems I would work it out and re-shoot.

'Overall the set took maybe four or five weeks to complete and for me to feel entirely happy with it.

'I used all different methods to create the splash - from dropping sugar cubes, throwing cups up in the air or simply pouring milk into tea and coffee.'

Egor, from Donetsk, Ukraine, studied drawing and painting then decided to branch out and began taking pictures.

He got his first camera just two years ago and only his first professional camera one year ago just a few months before taking these images.

He added: 'I saw a photo with the splash on the internet a long time ago and always wanted to do something similar.

'Then this idea came to me so I did three pictures as a result. Then I wanted to do an exhibition in local art cafe but the minimum pictures had to be 10 so I did more.

'These are the only pictures I have done like this at the moment but in the near future I hope to do a similar series with alcohol - such as wine, beer and more.'

Heartbreaking/Heart Touching Picture by photojournalists

In all my previous photography posts, I’ve always tried to bring creative and beautiful compilations for you guys. However, today I have collected some “not-so-pleasing” shots but definitely food for thought.

You would have surely heard of the term “Photojournalism”….a form of news reporting where images are used to tell the entire news story. This type of journalism has rapidly gained prominence since violence and aggression has risen all over the world. Terror attacks, suicide bombings, war in Afghanistan and Iraq, protests and revolt in Egypt….these all are the grueling moments that are happening around us. Therefore, to keep the general public aware, journalists capture these grim realities of life in their cameras and release them over internet.

Lately, I came across some of the most heartbreaking and disturbing pictures of photojournalism and thought of sharing them with my readers. I think it’s high time we all realise that… “Peace can never be achieved through war”. Peace is not about fighting for vengeance. It is a process of removing anger and hatred amongst ourselves. Always remember:

“The more we sweat in peace the less we bleed in war. “
Let’s have a look at these heart-rending pictures which clearly prove that we are not “human beings” anymore.

Hedda Morrison Tremendous Photographs of Republican China

Hedda Morrison was a tremendous resource for images from the latter part of the Republican China years, photographing extensively with a 2 1/4 Rolleiflex Twin Lens (my personal roll film favorite) during her 13 year stay in China (from 1933 - 1946). Coincidentally, she then married into the family of and bears the name of another very famous China photographer; she married George Ernest Morrison\’s son, Alastair in 1946. Besides photography in China, she was also known for a large body of image work in Malaysia and Australia (where she died in 1991). Her husband, generously donated her life\’s work, divided between Harvard University and Australia\’s Power House Museum of Science & Design. All images were found on Harvard Universitys VIA (Visual Information Access) Search Engine. Minor spot and scratch touch up, contrast and tonal adjustments in an almost technically perfect image. Sepia added and then a false duotone.

Human Figure Studies Digital Photography

Human Figure Studies Digital Photography

Bill Durgin's unusual figure studies New York photographer are as beautiful as they are strange Study. From his artist statement: The gesture within each photograph is created through exploring my own physical limitations and collaborative improvisation with dancers and performers. Often I will come up with a pose and demonstrate it and then ask the model to repeat or respond to it. Each pose transmogrifies the figure towards abstraction; exaggerating or diminishing the skeletal structure until it approaches an amorphic form. I want the bodies to be recognized as bodies, but also to be detached from common perceptions of the figure. Bound within each singular view, the uncanny figures convey the body as both abject and marvelous.

Some Immense Digital Photography tips and ideas

Not happy with your digital photos? If yes, keep reading, and if no, at least pretend that you are reading this for the first time.. You might learn a thing or two.

With the surge of photo blogging and the use of digital cameras, capturing good quality shots has become a requirement for all of us. Well, I will not claim that everyone can be a professional photographer overnight but yes, after reading the following tips, you might get a few assignments from Hollywood (I am serious)… Anyway, go on.. What’s New Today
Blurred Photographs

This is the most common problem that infests digital photos. In order to avoid your pictures from getting blurred, you should hold your camera steadily when clicking a photo or just use a tripod stand if your digital camera supports it. Also remember that any photos that you capture from a moving vehicle will always have some amount of blurriness (So don’t try to be a hero next time).

Some Immense Digital Photography tips and ideasYou should also take care that you don’t get too close to your subject (Specially if its a wild animal or a hot chick) otherwise your photos will become blurred. The nearest focal distance for most cameras including the digital ones is about three feet so if you get closer than the focal distance of your camera, your pictures will not come out nicely. Most of the digital cameras have an auto-focus feature and they will focus on whatever is in the center of your photograph. In order to improve the photo quality, you should move the subject further from the focal center (Take care not to push someone off the edge).

Some Immense Digital Photography tips and ideasIn the worst case scenario , if your photo has a little bit of blur, it can be fixed using different photo editing softwares like Adobe Photoshop. They have a sharpen feature that should take care of the small amount of blur. Don’t overdo it as that can spoil the photograph totally, so make a backup before you start editing. In cases where the photos are extremely blurred, it is not possible to repair them effectively (Say goodbye to your photography career).

Another effective method to reduce blur is by increasing your camera’s shutter speed. If your digicam allows you to manually set the camera shutter speed, it is good to remember that on high shutter speeds, blurring is dramatically reduced. And if your camera doesn’t have this feature, its time to buy a new one.

Check out these Beautiful high speed shots by a photographer called Jasper Nance. The objects are being shot by a high speed pellet gun and the process is captured in a camera. Look, no blur at all!

Landscape Photos

When clicking a landscape style photo, remember that the horizon line plays a vital role in the quality of the picture. Try to keep the horizon in an horizontal angle along with the subject in focus. A ration of 2:3 (sky to land) is good enough for a landscape photo.

Digital Photography TipsThe best way to get your horizon in a straight line is to simply line it up with view finder of your camera. Keep in mind that the edges of your frame in your viewfinder or LCD screen will be the edges of the actual image and will be the reference point for the eventual viewers of your photos to work out whether your shot is straight or not.

Digital Photography Tips
Digital Photography TipsA common issue in digital photography is the background for your shots. Examine carefully the space behind your subject to see what else is being covered in the image (If you see something dangerous..leave your camera and run). Decide whether you want the background in focus or nice and blurry and adjust your focus accordingly.

Lighting & Focus

Always make sure that there is a good amount of light present in the space where you are clicking your photos. The source of the light could be anything from natural to artificial but it should be adequate so that your photos don’t look dark (And yea.. I am not even talking about the Paris Hilton tape). Also take note that your subject is well lit, and in order to do so you can move the subject closer to the light source or vice versa.

Digital Photography TipsIf there is not adequate light, you can use your flash or the night vision mode if available in your camera. Remember that both these methods will only be effective at short range only.

When people are not very good at photography, they tend to take shots where the viewer has to strain his eyes to focus on the subject of the photograph. Try taking close up shots if your subject is smaller than the size of a car so that you see all the fine details including the freckles or that arched eyebrow.

An eye to eye contact can be as useful in a photograph as it is in real life. When taking a picture of someone, adjust the camera at the person’s eye level to unleash the power of those magnetic gazes and mesmerizing smiles. Your subject doesn’t necessarily have to stare at the camera. All by itself that eye level angle will create a personal and inviting feeling that pulls you into the photo.

Digital Photography Tips
Colors

The colors which you use can add or take away the life of your photos, so be wise in choosing the right color setting for your shots. The saturation of your colors should be kept balanced without compromising on the quality of the photographs, so remember that a shade too light or dark can spoil your pictures. This also depends on the purpose for which the picture will be used.

Some Immense Digital Photography tips and ideasIf your photo is already bland then why not make it black & white by removing all the colors. That will give an aesthetic touch to it, and believe me when I say that black & white photographs have their special way of conveying an antique, sentimental feeling that isn’t possible in color pictures.
